Magistrate Allison L. Manning has been serving as a magistrate in the Elyria Municipal Court since January 2010. She oversees and hears minor misdemeanor cases, which mostly include traffic offenses, unclassified driving under suspension cases, criminal tax cases, and property maintenance code cases.

Prior to becoming a magistrate, she practiced as a criminal defense attorney and currently practices in the areas of estate planning and probate. When she is not practicing law, Magistrate Manning enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and their three children, Conner, Avery, and Bryson. She volunteers on the Lorain County Law Library Resources board, and on her H.O.A. board, and is a past member of the Lorain County Bar Association’s Legal Ethics and Grievance Committee. She also serves as a member of the Ohio State, Lorain County, and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, the Avon PTA, and the Avon Early Childhood PTA.

Magistrate Manning graduated from Denison University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Capital University in 2005. She is a graduate of North Ridgeville High School.
